Cyber Security
The Cyber Security theme supports the security of STFC Scientific Computing and works closely with other cyber security functions in STFC and UKRI to develop the cyber security posture of the overall organisation. We lead the development of cyber security activity for the UKRI Digital Research Infrastructure programme across the highly distributed and heterogeneous UK research infrastructure environment.
Cyber Security provides a range of support, including:
- Security service delivery and management
- Policy development
- Risk management
- Operational security
- Incident response
- Connections to global research trust and security activities

Operational security must be supported through
policy to provide assurance and allow good
governance. We use a policy framework,
developed by an international body of experts,
that includes significant input from within STFC.
