SCARF
Running since 2004, Scientific Computing Application Resource for Facilities (SCARF) is a High-Performance-Computing (HPC) cluster for STFC.
Representing a significant capital investment in HPC, SCARF is:
- A provider of high performance compute and GPU resources for modelling and simulation across all scientific fields
- Available to all STFC departments and the Diamond Light Source, including collaborators and users
- A training platform to increase skills in the use of HPC
- A broad suite of installed HPC applications and development tools, such as compilers and debuggers
- Upgraded annually to ensure it remains a state-of-the-art resource
SCARF’s Annual report published March 2023, available here.
SCARF is located within the STFC Data Centre at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory
