Making the announcement, Tom Griffin, Director of STFC Scientific Computing, said:
“I am delighted to welcome Paul to the department, where he will lead the continued growth and development of the Ada Lovelace Centre, implementing a strategic management approach. He has been leading collaborative projects within the ALC for several years so his experience and knowledge will be valuable assets for this important role.”
Paul is currently Deputy Director for Physical Sciences, and Head of Imaging and Microscopy Science at the Diamond Light Source, where he leads and coordinates activities across the X-Ray imaging beamlines and the physical science electron microscopy facility ePSIC. In his role as Imaging group leader, he has worked across problems and projects in data handling, HPC, computational imaging techniques as well as spectroscopic and diffraction based imaging. As Director of the ALC, Paul will also play a key role in the leadership of STFC Scientific Computing.
