"An important and immensely rewarding aspect of our work is being able to inspire future generations of scientists. Our staff are very active in encouraging young people to get involved in coding projects – something that often helps to boost their confidence and shows that computational science isn’t such a difficult subject."
Tom Griffin, Director of STFC Scientific Computing
Inspiring the Next Generation of Computing Talent
Scientific computing is at the heart of modern science, supporting change that enhances the quality of life for everyone. To ensure the longevity of this mission, we’re working to inspire the next generation of computing talent across the UK.
Supporting the increased focus on coding within the national curriculum, we work closely with schools, educators, students and families to provide computing training, experiences and education that excite young people nationwide.
