SCARF

Running since 2004, Scientific Computing Application Resource for Facilities (SCARF) is a High-Performance-Computing (HPC) cluster for STFC.

 

Representing a significant capital investment in HPC, SCARF is:

  • A provider of high performance compute and GPU resources for modelling and simulation across all scientific fields
  • Available to all STFC departments and the Diamond Light Source, including collaborators and users
  • A training platform to increase skills in the use of HPC
  • A broad suite of installed HPC applications and development tools, such as compilers and debuggers
  • Upgraded annually to ensure it remains a state-of-the-art resource

SCARF is located within the STFC Data Centre at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory
